The Cabin is a beautiful Norwegian wood lodge set in a secluded valley at the heart of the South Hams. With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, it’s a perfect holiday retreat between the seaside, the rolling Devon hills and the towns of Dartmouth and Salcombe.

Super peaceful
Very clean and comfortable accommodation for six of us, plus a dog. Looks exactly like the photos. Super peaceful surrounded by woodlands and private – even though there are eight lodges, you would never know as they are all obscured by trees. It’s very remote so you will find getting in and out using the single track lanes for 20 mins at the start and end of your daily journey potentially frustrating and you need to be a confident driver (it can be tricky reversing down a lane with a lorry coming towards you to find a passing place). It’s the one thing that would put us off booking again. Overall though, the accommodation itself was excellent and would definitely recommend.

The cabin was well appointed and equipped. Very comfortable and cosy. Quiet and peaceful setting, though not far from ‘Devon’s largest family theme park’, Dartmouth and other places of interest. Nice to be able to sit out and have a meal on the patio. The children enjoyed the DVD collection. Being a group of three adults and two children, having two bathrooms was handy. The complimentary bottle of wine was very welcome. The only downside for some people might be the very narrow roads you have to drive down to reach the property, especially if you have a large SUV, as there are very few passing places. We enjoyed our short break and would happily stay here again.
A very peaceful location
We stayed for a couple of nights to break up our trip to Cornwall. A very peaceful location, right in the heart of a forest. Yes the lanes are narrow on route, but that’s how it always is in this part of the world. The lodge was spotless and very roomy for our family of 5. The outside space was a nice spot to relax in the warm evenings. Only here for a couple of days but managed to visit Blackpool Sands and Bantham Beach. Highly reccomend Bantham for a family day out, but take a picnic as food at Bantham is limited and pricey. A great place to stay.

Our stay at the cabin was really nice. Paul gave us detailed directions to get there. The cabin had everything you needed to make the most of your stay.
This place is lovely.
We've actually stayed in this location before and so knew it and loved it. This lodge was beautifully maintained and superbly equipped. As an Airbnb host myself I was really pleased to see just how clean and it was. Would definitely re-book and happily recommend to friends and family. Bravo!

This place was beautiful with a lovely kitchen and living area. We loved sitting outside in the garden and enjoying the sunshine in the garden. The recommendedations for local restaurants and places to visit were really helpful

We had a great stay
We had a great stay during the hot British summer. Easy check in via a lockbox and the place was as pictured, super clean and smart and very comfortable. Lovely decking area with outdoor sofas to enjoy the sun, comfy lounge area, well-stocked kitchen (the microwave is tucked away in the single bedroom cupboard if you need it), good shower pressure, comfy beds. The cabins are in a very remote area down some very narrow roads, but those are generally quiet so it wasn't too much of a problem to get in and out. Parking at the cabin itself is surprisingly easy though with plenty of room for 2 cars. Nothing walkable or near by so you will have to drive, but easy enough to get to Dartmouth and other local towns. The remoteness meant it was very peaceful and quiet which is exactly what we expected.
Highly recommended accommodation.
A secluded, peaceful stay in a spacious cabin in a beautiful wooded location. Cabin was very clean, tidy, well laid out. The outdoor deck is a highlight for sunrise breakfasts.
We really enjoyed our stay
We really enjoyed our stay at the woodland lodge, lovely inside and very clean and had everything we wanted. Outside was beautiful, a nice decking area with seating surrounded by trees. It was so peaceful away from everything, all you could hear was the sound of the river nearby and the birds.

Wonderful cabin
Wonderful cabin, so peaceful and beautifully decorated. The kitchen had everything one could need for food preparation and dining. Beds are comfortable and spotless. Warm and comfortable. Perfect bathrooms. The surroundings are beautiful and all you can hear is the stream in the distance and the whisper of the wind and the trees. Paul replied promptly each time I asked questions.

We had a fantastic stay and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The property was exactly as described—spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully set up with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It felt like a home away from home from the moment we arrived. Communication with the host was excellent throughout—helpful, and quick to respond, which made everything smooth and stress-free. It's in a very private place away from any shops ect. Very steep narrow roads but it wouldnt put us off staying again! We would absolutely recommend staying here and would happily return in the future. Thank you again for such a lovely stay!

Lovely accommodation with high spec, i.e bedding was super quality. Fully equipped and as described. Close to plenty of great places to visit but a little out of the way to be nice and peaceful to return to. Highly recommended

Lovely stay in the cabin.
Thank you for a lovely stay in the cabin. The setting is beautiful, especially the meadow at the top. We all enjoyed using the fire pit and listening out for the birds. The river is also a lot of fun and the perfect place for playing Pooh Sticks.
Cosy cabin in the woods
Great little cabin. Exceptionally clean and well appointed. Woke to bird song each day. Loved the log fire. Perfect if you want to get away from it all. It is a remote location and difficult to get about with the dreaded Devon lanes surrounding it, but if you want peace, you will find it here. Good luck finding the microwave and washing machine! It’s there….just not where you might expect!

Wonderful cabin
Wonderful cabin, everything was perfect. Unfortunately I had emergency surgery the week prior to arriving which delayed our arrival date by a few days, but Paul was super accommodating and responsive to messages. The cabin was a great place to rest and recuperate surrounded by nature and with the comfiest bed and sofas imaginable, we were sorry to leave!

Exceptional place to stay
Exceptional place to stay, tucked away down the most Devon of Devon lanes, The Cabin has it all. We had a fantastic time in one of our favourite places on the planet - easy to get to the sea, and the moor - plus the hosts have thought of everything. Loved it.
Wonderful festive stay
We have just returned from a few days at the lodge in between Christmas and New Year. It was absolutely gorgeous , so cosy and in such a beautiful setting. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas as well. We really loved the log burner in the evenings, it’s clear that everything has been thought out carefully in the lodge. The beds are so comfortable and the decor absolutely lovely, we were sad to leave!

Excellent stay at The Cabin. Beautifully clean and organised. Greeted by the Christmas tree twinkle lights,decorations around the cabin and lovely bottle of wine. Very well equipped, great layout and surrounded by trees and ferns. Comfortable beds with lovely linens and towels. The only thing I can add is maybe a microwave? Would love to stay again. We enjoyed a wonderful stay in The Cabin! Super peaceful, spacious, and full of hospitable touches which made us feel right at home. Clear, and prompt, communication was appreciated, and the surroundings were just so gorgeous with Autumn colours! We thoroughly recommend staying here (but don't tell anyone! ;))

Lovely, homely cabin in the woods. The whole place was well designed and thought out with attractive interiors. We only had breakfast in, so can't comment on kitchen facilities really, but everything was spotless. The bathrooms had soft towels and were again very clean.

We had a fantastic stay at The Cabin. Lots of narrow roads to get to it, but the instructions given were very helpful! The Cabin itself is beautiful. It was very peaceful and private. It was very clean and had everything we need. As a family of 6 we were at full capacity, but we still had plenty of space. The kids loved going up to the meadow for a little fire and marshmallow toasting. There is so much to do in under an hours drive, lots of lovely beaches. There aren't any shops or restaurants within walking distance so you do need a car to get around. Overall we had a lovely time and would highly recommend staying here!

What a great stay myself, my husband and two daughters had! We all felt at home straight away, the cabin had absolutely everything we needed and we couldn't believe how beautifully it is decorated and furnished. The highlight for my daughter's was toasting marshmallows on the firepit in the meadow. We visited Dartmouth, Salcombe, Kingsbridge, Bantham beach and Pennywell Farm. Paul was great at promptly responding to a question I had before our stay and there was a folder full of local recommendations at the cabin. It was the little details that stood out for us, from the lovely kitchen crockery to the fabulous smelling hand soap plus the numerous wall hangings and little ornaments. A lot of thought has gone into this place and that instantly made it feel homely. Thank you for a great stay.

This place is incredible. Don’t be put off by the location and the country lanes. It is well worth it. It was by far the most peaceful and relaxing place I’ve ever stayed, and is so well decorated and furnished. Lovely touches including a bottle of wine on arrival! The location is really not that difficult especially once you’ve done it the first time. If are you from the UK like ourselves and are used to country lanes you won’t have a problem. You won’t regret staying in this amazing place. It’s like being totally switched off from everything. I really hope to go back someday and for longer!

Beautiful serene oasis. Looked like the pics and didn't disappoint. Very tasteful. Comfy furniture, soft linens, well appointed. Lots of lighting to make things bright / cozy. Nice little outdoor area surrounded by green. We loved sitting outside for breakfast and watching the many butterflies flutter past. Paul was very communicative and gave great instructions. And the digital guidebook was very helpful. We also loved all the maps and guide books inside The Cabin. Thank you also for the bottle of wine and pint of milk (even though we didn't use it). Lovely touches. We highly recommend it and will definitely be back!
Start to finish was excellent!
From start to finish the whole experience at the Cabin was excellent Communication was fantastic - all instructions were just so easy to understand The surroundings and Cabin were perfect, exactly as described .. very private and tranquil .. the decor, fittings and just general feel of the place we're just perfect! The lanes to get there are a bit tight but taking your time is key and it's well worth it when you arrive I shall be telling my friends all about this place .. ! Highly recommend if you are looking for a peaceful escape - but, not too far away from lovely restaurants and beaches 😁

Peace and Quiet
If you're looking for peace and quiet this is the perfect spot. The cabin itself is cozy, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need. One of the highlights for me was the sounds of birds. The surrounding area is perfect for morning walks or just sitting outside with a cup of coffee. The hosts were kind, responsive, and made sure everything was just right for our stay.

It was warm and cosy for our Easter break and I can imagine that in the summertime with full use of the deck and meadow above it will be gorgeous. The cabin is beautifully nestled amongst the trees so you are surrounded by nature & can hear the constant flow of the nearby river! Amazing place to get away from it all & relax. The weather during our stay was cold & wet, but thanks to the wood burner in the lounge it was so cozy inside! Paul left a helpful manual inside with local recommendations & walks.
