Thank you for your kind words about Your Devon Escape…
Fantastic Lodge. Beautifully set and fully equipped. Was spotlessly clean and looked welcoming when we arrived. Would thoroughly recommend.
The house was lovely: well presented and fab location. The driveway into the 3 houses is tight but parking is good. Local shop and pub both excellent. Devon stays offer a good service but I felt an AI reply to my feedback email was a little impersonal. However, I would definitely book again!
I stayed here for three days with my two brothers and we had a great time! As we are from California, we enjoyed scones with clotted cream from the local market in the garden. Additionally, the cottage has a really beautiful 45 minute walk along the coast to Big Bury Beach. The location of Hideaway Cottage allows for a quiet English holiday while being in walking distance to the main town and coastline. My brothers and I are sure to come back and visit!
We’ve had a beautiful stay here! All six of us were very pleasantly surprised at how gorgeous the place and location was. Thank you so much!
Had a brilliant stay at the Ferryman’s Rest. The accommodation was exceptionally clean and comfortable, especially the bedrooms being on the lower floor with the recent heatwave. Good communication from the management team. Would use again.
Tremendous accommodation. Old stone outside. Modern inside. Quiet. Great beds. Ideal location. Short walk to beach. Picturesque village. We are coming back.
Beautiful apartment, really clean and cosy! Amazing location to all the shops, bars and restaurants. They just need to fix the blind above the bed (let’s in too much light early morning) and needs a new toilet seat as wobbly/on its way out lol!
3 nights away in “the apartment”, had an amazing time, Car never moved. Train, river trip, visit to Greenway. Ace food at Hendricks, the dirty Fries were absolutely filthy!!!! The Apartment was spotless, not a fault and Tracy was quietly attentive by text all the time. We’re not critics, so give 7 stars out of 5 . THANKYOU ❤️
We recently stayed at The Cabin in Slapton and had a fantastic break. The cabin was spotlessly clean, exceptionally well equipped and felt very welcoming from the moment we arrived. It was clear that a lot of thought had gone into ensuring guests have everything they need for a comfortable stay. The woodland setting is peaceful, quiet and secluded, making it the perfect place to switch off and relax. We particularly enjoyed spending time on the deck and taking in the surroundings. Despite its tranquil location, the cabin was easy to find and access, which made arrival and departure completely stress free. As dog owners, we really appreciated how dog friendly the property was. It can be difficult to find accommodation that genuinely welcomes dogs, but The Cabin was ideal and made the holiday enjoyable for the whole family. The location is perfect for exploring South Hams, with Slapton Sands, Dartmouth and the surrounding villages all within easy reach. Communication from Your Devon Escape was excellent throughout, and the whole booking process was straightforward. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful Devon getaway. We would happily return in the future.
We had a lovely stay at Spyglass and would definitely recommend it. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and very well equipped with great amenities. The views were the real standout, absolutely incredible looking out over the water and something we never got tired of. Everything was well prepared for our stay, with fresh, clean linen and plenty of towels provided, which made things very easy and comfortable. As mentioned in the listing, there are stairs up to the apartment, but as long as you’re able-bodied they are perfectly manageable and well worth it for the views. Overall, a wonderful stay.
Lovely house with stunning views up and down the River Dart. Great outdoor at front of property to eat outside and great views from lounge and front bedrooms. Great location and garage for car was a massive bonus.
Galions Quay is a beautiful property, well appointed and in a very good location overlooking the river. We enjoyed our stay there and the property hosts were very helpful and responsive. This property is a good choice if you plan to visit that part of Devon.
We had such a lovely stay at 8 Dartmouth Grove Golf Club and honestly didn’t want to leave. Paul was such a lovely host and was really responsive. Even though the weather was a little gloomy at times, it somehow made the whole experience feel even more cosy and peaceful. We had been dreaming about a quiet getaway like this for a long time, away from the busy city life, and we’re so happy we finally made it happen here. The atmosphere was calm, relaxing, and exactly what we needed to recharge. Waking up to the beautiful surroundings, enjoying the peaceful environment, and simply slowing down for a few days gave us so many special memories that we’ll truly cherish. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable and memorable — we’re leaving happy, refreshed, and already hoping to come back again someday!Thank you again for hosting us, Paul!
Our stay at Victoria terrace was all too short. The house was very comfortable and pleasantly decorated, and just a short walk into town. What I didn’t realise when I booked was the importance of the private parking space right out the front of the house which was a great convenience. We enjoyed breakfast in the morning Sun in the charming back garden - really delightful ! Hopefully, next time we can stay longer.
We booked Nauti cottage for 4 nights in May, and we chose it for its superb location. It’s a short walk into town and the embankment so it was perfect. The cottage itself is lovely - it has been decorated and furnished in a modern nautical theme reflecting the roots of Dartmouth. It has all mod cons as well as some thoughtful little extras. The beds are comfy although we struggled to find pillows that suited - they were either too hard or too soft! One point to mention - The stairs are extremely narrow and steep and we found that the rope handrails although in keeping with the nautical theme… were totally impractical for support so it felt quite dangerous especially during the night when visiting the bathroom from the top floor. I especially loved the outside deck area which was quite sheltered and sunny to relax in after being out all day. All in all, the cottage was perfect for our short break in the lovely town of Dartmouth.
I stayed in Dart Lookout for 8 days and it really is a sanctuary and a place to relax and watch the world go by. Birds, cruise ships, staff from the hotel below, next door’s dog - I watched and enjoyed them all from the window seat of dreams that is the best part of this house. The big bed follows in close second - super comfortable with lovely bedding. Open the curtains in the morning and watch the sun come up over the water. Perfect! The bathroom, downstairs loo and kitchen could do with a serious revamp but I just took them for what they are and made the positives outweigh any negatives. The fridge broke on my second day but the response was immediate and a new fridge was installed and working within 5 hours - that must be a record! Thank you so much, Paul! Be prepared for lots of steps up from the garage (48), but think of the cardio benefit and the arrival is more than worth the effort. I loved it! Thank you!
Lovely apartment overlooking the harbour. Clean, spacious and just a few minutes from local pubs, shop, steam railway station and ferry point. Recommended 👌
We loved our stay in Dartmouth, and the Captain's Cabins was a fantastic location to enjoy it. The accommodation was brilliantly decorated, very spacious and the views must be some of the best in Dartmouth. The cafe below on the ground floor was an added bonus, it was clearly the go to place for breakfast.
We had an excellent stay at Lower Heywood in Dartmouth. The apartment was beautifully presented, very well equipped, and maintained to a high standard throughout. The rainfall shower was superb. It provided a comfortable and relaxing base, with everything we needed for an enjoyable holiday. The location was ideal for exploring Dartmouth and the surrounding area, and we particularly appreciated the setting next to the River. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and we would not hesitate to recommend Lower Heywood to others.
Beautiful holiday house, great location. The house was so well equipped with everything we needed and more. Comfortable beds and all beautifully clean. Host was extremely helpful when we contacted him with a query. We would definitely recommend Devon Escapes Thank you
Amazing property, so beautifully styled and the beds are insanely comfortable! Everything has been thought about, only thing we didn’t realise is that the fridge is not a fridge freezer! The views are insane and I would not hesitate to return, we all loved it!
We’ve just returned home to Bristol after the most amazing 3 night stay at the rivershack with our dog and 5 year old son. What an absolutely fantastic location, literally ON the estuary with insane views. We arrived in the dark (which was our fault!) and wasn’t ideal but once we found our way to the shack it was everything we hoped it would be and more. Firstly the shack was warm, homely and immaculately clean - it smelt so fresh as soon as we opened the door. The tide was in and the view just took our breath away. It was silent with just the gentle sound of water lapping - perfect! The bedding was so crisp and beds were really comfy. The Coombe Cellars pub is where to leave the car and they serve lovely food - not the cheapest but a great dog friendly pub with views and just a 3-4 minute scenic walk away from the shack. The village itself is super quiet and peaceful but we drove to Babbacombe and went down to the beach on the historic cliff railway then went on a short walk to the neighbouring beach looking for the regular seal visitors. We also got the ferry (£2.50 each, each way for adults) from Shaldon over to Teignmouth for a wander round. On our final full day, we drove 25 mins over to Berry Pomeroy Castle which was not too expensive (about £25 for all of us) and is supposedly the most haunted castle in England! Worth a visit. Other than that we played on the sandy mud outside the shack with a bucket and spade when the tide was out, sat in the shack watching the birds and wildlife with our binoculars and watching the locals windsurfing, fishing and rowing from the comfort of the living room. My only (and very minor) thing would be that the blinds in the lounge don’t quite drop to the floor which made us feel a bit exposed on an evening but we’re just a bit funny like that! We’ve never stayed anywhere quite like this and would love to come back again! It really is impressive!
Stayed at Steppes House, and what an amazing location. With riverside views and perfect bedroom arrangements to accommodate a large family or group, it is definitely the best property I have ever stayed in.
Hidden Gem by the Marina. This fantastic 3 bed holiday home is everything you could wish for, close to the town with amazing views and spacious modern accomodation. Fully equipped kitchen (although we ate out every night) large spacious rooms and private garage parking too. Highly recommended.
We had such a wonderful stay at Dartmouth Grove! The lodge was absolutely amazing — clean, comfortable, and beautifully set up. The hot tub was incredibly relaxing, especially with the sunny weather. Sitting outside and enjoying the lovely views made the whole experience even more special. It was the perfect place to unwind and spend quality time together. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. We can’t wait to come back!
We escaped to the beautiful 9 Riverside Wharf for a Mother’s Day weekend with kids ranging from 5-8, and parents in their 70’s. What a great time we had! The views of the apartment were amazing, and so well equipped! The walk to the ferry and into Dartmouth was the perfect length managed easily by age 5-75 . Highly reccommend this beautiful apartment for a coastal escape!! Thanks so much for helping us make great memories!
