Created by three friends from Exeter College, this restaurant offers a cosy and relaxed fine dining experience in the heart of Totnes.  It offers a tasting menu, showcasing dishes using locally sourced and wild foraged ingredients from the fields, shoreline, rivers, and hedgerows. They source their produce from local suppliers, with their wine list compliments the menu perfectly. With the menu changing daily, no two meals will ever be the same.

Opening Times: Tuesday-Saturday 6pm-late (last sitting 8pm)

Rumour

Positioned on the eclectic high street, this restaurant is a local classic if you are looking for places to eat in Totnes.  Offering large and small plates, stone baked pizzas and burgers, their focus is on making delicious and wholesome food.  This restaurant is renowned for its relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.  They use locally sourced ingredients and suppliers, to bring you the best of Devon in a casual way.  Vegan and vegetarian options are available, with children welcome.

Steam Packet Inn

Situated on the banks of the River Dart, close to the heart of Totnes, you will find the Steam Packet Inn. This warm and friendly pub serves mouth watering pub classics with a modern flair. Enjoy dinner whilst watching boats glide by all with a beautiful countryside backdrop. Taguchi-Ya is a family kitchen, offering a relaxed, informal dining experience.  They offer simple but delicious home cooking, made with care and commitment.  You will only ever find two fabulous women in the kitchen, cooking authentic food that they love to cook and eat themselves.  If you are looking for great places to eat in Totnes, this canteen is a hidden gem, loved by locals and lucky visitors.  Vegan and vegetarian options are available, and booking is essential.

Tamarind Tree

Tamarind Tree shares their history, culture and tradition through their bowls and plates of delicious goodness. The restaurant was created to bring together the family’s experiences of food, cooking, and place that brought them to England and Totnes. They use bold, fresh, and unique flavours, great produce, and the very best spices from India. Their dishes are influenced by the cooking of their mothers and grandmothers from generations past. They want to bring their history, culture, and flavour to your very table. The Bull Inn

The Bull Inn is an organic, radical, and ethical pub. Located at the top of the Totnes high street, they run their business by their ‘No Bull Rules’ and the ‘Conscious Promise’. They serve deliciously simple plates, cooked from scratch. They only use genuinely seasonal, organic produce, with vegetables at the heart of all their dishes. Produce is sourced locally, with the menu being supplier led; if their supply runs out so does the pub. And they only serve mindful meat that is wild or organic, and whole fish that is caught on the day, solely from day boats. This menu is paired with the tastiest of drinks from the most passionate of producers. Loved by locals and visitors alike, be sure to book a table to enjoy a few of their plates of goodness!

Waterside Bistro
