There be pirates in brixham and they’re having their knees up this early May bank holiday weekend.  Brixham Pirate Festival is one of Britain’s largest gathering of pirates making it an unusual spectacle to not be missed.  There will be parades, live music, live displays, historic sailing ships, and lots of activities for all ages to get involved in.  Come dressed as a pirate and bring us your best arghhh!

Devon County Show

Westpoint Arena in Exeter is hosting the Devon County Show this 16th to 18th of May.  Home to Devon’s largest agricultural show, there is a full programme of activities and entertainment throughout the weekend.  Marvel at monster trucks, sample local ales, and cheer on sheep dog displays.  Families with young children can enjoy the petting farm, fairground, and countryside activities.  With so much to explore and learn across the weekend, check out their website to find what to do in South Devon at the county show.

Dart Music Festival

Be in Dartmouth from the 17th to the 19th of May to enjoy a three-day music festival across the town.  With over one hundred performances across a mix of outdoor and indoor venues, this festival is free to attend and one of our favourites in Devon.  Music ranges from rock to opera, jazz to indie and more.  There are school performances alongside locally loved bands and artists.  It truly is a spectacle.  Be sure to grab a programme or download the app to find out the line up and start planning Your Devon Escape to Dartmouth.

Plymouth Pirates Weekend

Plenty of fun can be had on the 18th and 19th of May in Plymouth.  Enjoy two days of pirate-inspired activities, perfect for the whole family.  Dress up, admire the ‘pirate ships’, celebrate with the shanty bands, and chill out in the garden area.  Check out their website to keep up to date with events and activities happening across the weekend.  Get your Jolly Rogers, eye patches and treasure maps ready.
