Created by three friends from Exeter College, this restaurant offers a cosy and relaxed fine dining experience.  Their menu showcases dishes using locally sourced ingredients.  They offer tasting menus and prix fixe menus which can cater to vegetarians.  They are also happy to adjust their menus for allergies.  You can find the restaurant in the heart of the town, on the high street.  If you are looking for a celebratory lunch or simply to indulge on a fine dining experience on Your Devon Escape, this is the place.

Pie Street

Pie Street is a café, bar and restaurant located on the high street.  It is renowned for its delicious and different pie selection.  The pies are available for lunch in the restaurant, to takeaway ready to eat, or to take home to cook yourself.  They believe that a freshly baked pie is the ultimate British soul comfort food and, therefore, their ethos is ‘simple fresh food handmade on the premise and perfectly cooked using fresh, locally sourced and organic ingredients where possible’.  So, if you are looking for a hearty, local, and homemade lunch option in Totnes, Pie Street is where to be!

This restaurant is a local classic.  Offering large and small plates, stone baked pizzas and burgers, their focus is on making delicious and wholesome food.  Rumour is renowned for its relaxed atmosphere, partnered with friendly staff.  They use locally sourced ingredients and suppliers to bring you the best of Devon in a casual way.  Vegan and vegetarian options are available, with children welcome.  Loved by locals and visitors alike, if you are looking for one of the best lunch spots in Totnes, this is for sure the place.

Seeds 2 Totnes

A cosy and atmospheric vegan and vegetarian café on Totnes high street. The owners have created a wholesome menu with absolutely no compromise on flavour. The café offers a unique, all you can eat, buffet style dining experience. With a variety of hot and cold dishes, it can keep all dietaries happy! Join them in the morning for delicious handmade pastries, cakes and buns or their buffet from 11am. With all homemade dishes and made with love, it really is a delicious lunch option in Totnes.

The Cott Inn

The Cott Inn is found down the road from Totnes in the lovely Dartington.  The gastropub is full of character and offers a welcome and lively atmosphere.  They offer delicious food created using naturally reared Devon meats, locally line-caught fish, and local produce.  They offer a lunch menu plus an outstanding Sunday roast.  Why not take a stroll along the River Dart to Dartington and enjoy a bite to eat before returning into town.

The Hairy Barista

Offering a fully plant-based menu, this establishment is excellent for catering to allergies and dietary requirements.  They offer an excellent food selection and potentially some of the best coffee in Devon.  The Hairy Barista’s mission is to source and provide the local community with the highest quality produce.  They do so by offering organic, local, and homemade.  Make sure to try their vegan ‘salmon and cream cheese’ bagel.

The Wild Fig Deli

The Wild Fig believe good food is more than just simple ingredients.  They have tried to create a welcoming and inclusive environment, whilst specialising in gluten free and vegan options, to provide for something for everyone.  They use seasonal produce, local to the area and everything is homemade.  We believe they produce the most delicious salads in the whole of South Devon! The Steam Packet Inn

Located next to the River Dart, enjoy lunch whilst watching the boats go by with a countryside backdrop.  Their menu consists of pub classics with a modern flair.  Eat outside to enjoy the summer sun or cosy up by the fire through those colder winter months.  Vegan and vegetarian options are available alongside a full gluten-free menu.

The Waterside Bistro

Enjoy a hearty Devon lunch next to the River Dart.  Choose to dine inside or outside, depending on your preference and the weather.  The bistro is a family run business started by South Hams local.  They strive to source locally, with the freshest and finest ingredients, building relationships with local suppliers.  Their menu is offered for dine in or for takeaway, so whether you want to eat at the establishment, in the comfort of one of our properties, or along the bank of the River Dart, they can cater for your needs.  They also can offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
