Drinking in and around Bigbury-On-Sea

With a wide selection of drinking establishments in the area, from locals’ pubs to cocktail bars, there is something for everything. Enjoy a pint on a walk or enjoy an evening out in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

HARBOUR HOTEL
Pop in for a cocktail or pint whilst admiring the panoramic views of the estuary. There are now two harbour hotels in the town, The Jetty and The Beach Club. Enjoy a boozy high tea or some evenings drinks at the Jetty. Stroll down to the Beach Club to swing in a hammock or relax on a beanbag. Watch the sunset whilst sipping a mojito. Located in Salcombe, and an approximately 40-minute drive from any of our properties.

KING OF PRUSSIA
This truly locals’ pub is in the heart of nearby town Kingsbridge. It is one for the sports fans, showing sporting events throughout the year. With a darts board and pool table, check this one out for an evening with your friends or partner. Serving loved beers and ales, pop in for a drink at this traditional pub.

SALCOMBE GIN BAR
Located in Salcombe, enjoy a glass of the internationally known spirit whilst watching the distillation in action. Admire the view over the estuary from the bar’s balcony. Want to make the outing an activity? Book a place to make your own gin. An excellent afternoon activity to make something different to take home. THE CRABSHELL
Watch the boats going in and out of the estuary whilst enjoying a cold, crisp pint. This family-friendly establishment serves local beers and has an extensive wine list. Check out their website for their list of events and live music nights happening throughout the year.

THE CREEKS END INN
A restaurant and bar located in the heart of Kingsbridge. Situated at the head of the Kingsbridge/Salcombe estuary, sit and have a drink here whilst watching the boats come in and out. Enjoy a cold glass of wine or a pint of local ale. This place truly comes alive at night, with live music every weekend and mid-week events.

THE FERRY INN
Serving pints and cocktails and hosting events throughout the year. Pop into Salcombe’s most famous inn. Located on the estuary, head down to enjoy views out across the estuary.

THE HOPE AND ANCHOR
Set in the heart of the Hope Cove, sip on your drink whilst enjoying the views out to sea. Pop in whilst on a walk or head in for an evening and watch a glorious sunset. Serving some of the best of South West’s beers, ciders, and spirits, this is one to not miss.

THE JOURNEY’S END INN

THE PILCHARD INN
Soak up the stunning views of the beach from inside one of England’s oldest taverns. With seven centuries of stories, ask a member of staff to learn about some of the local history. Stroll over the golden sand causeway to Burgh Island or catch the tractor when the tide is in for that unique Bigbury-On-Sea experience.

THE REGAL
Located in Kingsbridge, this is a vibrant and customer-focussed pub. It has a good selection of beers, real ales, and wines, ask a member of staff for recommendations. Pop in to watch sport, play pool or chat to some locals.

THE SLOOP INN
This 14th century inn is packed with lots of history. This quaint pub is loved by the locals. Pop in on your way to or from the beach. It is a good place to relax after a long day surfing or relaxing in the sun. With a good selection of beers, ales, and spirits, this is one to check out if you are in the area.

THE VICTORIA INN
Set in the heart of Salcombe, this inn is a typical locals pub. A short stroll from the banks of the estuary, pop in after a day out in Salcombe or make an evening of it and watch the sunset. With a welcoming atmosphere and lots of character, this inn is definitely worth the visit. It has a beer garden for those wanting to soak up the sun in the summer months, or log fires to get cosy during the winter. Enjoy a pint whilst soaking in the views of the estuary and out to sea.
