England’s Seafood Feast is hosted in Torbay each Autumn. It is a multi-day event where you can immerse yourself in some of the best seafood in the world. It plays host to a feast for all the senses. Don’t be expecting a conventional festival with a big marquee. Instead enjoy a range of locally caught and landed fish and seafood at thirty eateries across Brixham, Paignton and Torquay. Highlights include tours around the Brixham Fish Market, seafood tasting, nature walks and more. And don’t worry, there are lots of activities for children too!
England’s Seafood Feast is made up of various events from seafood set menus and platters and taster menus. There are events by guest chefs and crab cracking masterclasses, and this is just for starters. All events feature seafood that is landed locally, allowing you to eat it at its freshest. Sample local beer, cider, wine, or gin as you go and enjoy a selection of locally sourced foods from passionate producers.
The heart of England’s Seafood Feast is Brixham’s Fish Market. Over forty species of fish and shellfish are regularly sold at the daily auction. During the feast there are daily tours of the market taking place each day at 6am, but they get booked up quick so if you are interested be sure to get in quick!
There is plenty more to fill your days with during this festive period. Take a trip on a heritage sailing boat. Or go fishing and learn how to cook the day’s catch. Join a seashore foraging workshop.
