ROCK AND RAPID ADVENTURES

One of the best things to do on a rainy day in Barnstaple is check out the Rock and Rapid Adventures.  It is a sure way to turn a dreary wet-weather day into an epic adventure.  Book a climbing taster session with a qualified instructor and see how high you can climb on their indoor rock wall.  The wall features climbs of varying difficulty.  Or head into their bouldering cave to try some short, challenging routes.  You’ll forget about the rain completely while you’re pushing yourself on the wall.  There is also a café if climbing isn’t for everyone, so you can sit and watch the others climb.

THE BIG SHEEP

Home to one of the biggest indoor playgrounds in the South West, to the chance to feed animals in the indoor animal barn, you’ll barely notice the rain at The Big Sheep.  EWEtopia is one of the biggest all-weather attractions and is perfect for all ages.  Grown ups can be big kids again, sliding down the multi-lane slides and scrambling along the swing bridge.  Or if chilling is your thing, relax with a cup of coffee and watch the children play.  It is the perfect place to set up a base on a rainy day in Barnstaple.

THE MILKY WAY ADVENTURE PARK

The Milky Way Adventure Park is the perfect place for a rainy day in Barnstaple.  It has 110,000 square feet of indoor fun from slides to rides as well as play areas for different ages, including Little Stars for ages zero to six.  Older kids (and grown-ups!) can also check out the Planet Play Adventure Area, with free-fall drop slide, The Black Hole as well as indoor pottery painting, laser shooting and a fantastic Sci-Fi exhibit.  There is so much to explore without having to get wet so be sure to check the park out on Your Devon Escape.
