Marketing Manager – Job Description

Role title: Marketing Manager
Reports to: Directors 
Location: Dartmouth, Devon (office working and on-site property visits)
Contract: Permanent – Full-Time 40hrs per week
Start date: January 2026
Salary: £32,000-£34,000 per annum
Holiday: 28-days per annum inc Bank Holidays

Purpose of the Role

The Marketing Consultant will play a key role in driving the continued growth of Your Devon Escape by developing and delivering an integrated marketing strategy focused on:

  • attracting new property owners to join the portfolio,

  • increasing direct guest bookings, and

  • strengthening brand awareness across Devon and the wider UK travel market.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone creative, commercially minded, and confident in both digital and traditional marketing channels. You’ll be able to drive and work closely with the company directors to shape strategy and bring fresh ideas that express our dynamic, personal, and quality-driven approach to holiday letting.


Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement a results-driven marketing strategy aligned with business growth goals.

  • Define and manage annual marketing budget and campaign plans.

  • Report on performance and recommend improvements based on data insights.

Digital Marketing

  • Plan and manage paid campaigns across Google, Meta, and other digital platforms.

  • Lead the development of engaging organic content across social media channels.

  • Oversee website content updates and SEO improvements in coordination with web developers.

  • Create email and CRM campaigns to nurture both guests and property owners.

  • Track campaign performance and provide regular reports using Google Analytics (GA4) and ad platform insights.

Brand & Content

  • Maintain a consistent brand tone and visual identity across all channels.

  • Oversee creative content development including blog posts, newsletters, photography, and video.

  • Collaborate with the team to showcase the best of Devon and the properties we represent.

  • Ensure all marketing materials reflect the premium, personable nature of the Your Devon Escape brand.

Owner & Partner Marketing

  • Design and deliver targeted owner-acquisition campaigns, from digital lead generation to follow-up email flows.

  • Support property owner engagement with regular communications, updates, and success stories.

  • Develop local partnerships with businesses, publications, and tourism bodies to increase visibility.

Collaboration & Management

  • Work closely with the lettings and operations teams to align marketing with booking trends, guest feedback, and new property launches.

  • Manage freelance or agency partners as required (designers, photographers, PPC specialists).

  • Contribute creative ideas and participate in strategic planning meetings with the directors.


Person Specification

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in marketing, ideally with a focus on digital channels and measurable results.

  • Strong understanding of digital advertising (Google Ads, Meta Ads), SEO, and CRM/email marketing.

  • Confident using Canva and other creative tools to design and edit marketing materials.

  • Excellent written communication and storytelling skills.

  • Experience managing marketing budgets and reporting on performance metrics.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver projects to deadline.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to represent the brand to property owners and partners.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience within the travel, hospitality, or property sector (holiday lets or tourism industry preferred).

  • Familiarity with WordPress/YOOtheme or managing website content.

  • Knowledge of the Devon tourism market and local business landscape.

  • Previous involvement in brand-building for a growing SME or owner-led business.

Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to complete the following assessments:

  • A short interview
  • Asked to complete a 2-3hr assessment designed to help us understand your approach to marketing within a growing holiday lettings business. This should be returned within 72hrs of being received.
  • If shortlisted, you may be invited to discuss your campaign during further interview and suggest how you would deliver it over 3 months with a modest budget.

Candidates who are successful at this stage will then be invited to a final interview.
