When you’ve got a four-legged friend, it can be a challenge to find days out that please everyone.  Devon is an excellent choice for a dog friendly holiday. Arlington Court

There is lots to explore at Arlington Court. The National Trust Museum gardens, grounds and stables offers more than twenty miles of footpaths to explore.  This unexpected jewel on the edge of Exmoor National Park is the perfect spot for a dog friendly day out.  Enjoy the popular walk around the man-made lake and explore the collection of treasures for all tastes.  The court is a great all-weather activity for Your Devon Escape.

Lymouth to Lynton Cliff Railway

Take a ride on this 19th century funicular for incredible views of the North Devon coast. And it is pooch friendly!  This cliff railway ride between Lynmouth and Lynton in Devon is a great activity for the whole family.  For wonderful views of the coastline, a ride on the railway is a must. The funicular was built in the Victorian times to transport people and goods between the two towns. At the time of building, was the world’s steepest and tallest water-powered funicular.  Take a ride into history on one of the dog friendly activities in North Devon. Milky Way Adventure Park

Spend a day enjoying the rides and activities at one of Devon’s top theme parks.  It has 110,000 square feet of indoor fun from slides to rides as well as play areas for all ages.  Older kids (and grown-ups!) can also check out the Planet Play Adventure Area, with a free-fall drop slide. Visit the Black Hole, or enjoy indoor pottery painting, laser shooting and a fantastic Sci-Fi exhibit.  Open every day during the school holidays, and at the weekends through winter term time, enjoy one of the largest undercover play areas in the South West.  Check the attraction’s website for the latest information on areas dogs are welcome.

Quince Honey Farm

Visit one of Britain’s top honey farms to find out more about beekeeping.  This is a great dog friendly activity to try in North Devon.  Take part in a guided tours, run about in the soft play, and stroll the beautiful gardens, or enjoy an exclusive beekeeping experiences. There are plenty of activities to keep everyone happy.  Taking you on a journey from flower to jar, this farm is a great place for a day out in Devon.

Rock and Rapid Centre

Book a climbing taster session with a qualified instructor and see how high you can climb on their indoor rock wall.  The wall features climbs of varying difficulty depending on your ability or how adventurous you are feeling. Head into their bouldering cave to try some short, challenging routes.  If you are looking for dog friendly activities in North Devon, but are also after some adrenaline-fuelled fun, this is the place to go!  Dogs on lead are welcome to come into the centre. Let them watch you on the climbing wall or the high ropes. Have a go at archery, or axe throwing.

Valley of the Rocks

Devon isn’t short of dramatic landscapes and towering rock formations. However, the Valley of the Rocks in Exmoor National Park is something special.  This natural wonder is where you’ll find some of the UK’s highest sea cliffs and stunning views. It is also dog friendly!  This fascinating valley is a U-shaped dry valley that is parallel to the sea.  After visiting the cliffs, this is a good spot to walk to Lynton, located half a mile to the west.  From here you can catch the cliff railway to Lynmouth. Another great North Devon town to visit.

Watermouth Castle

Watermouth Castle is a family theme park and castle located near Ilfracombe.  Explore the Victorian castle full of eclectic treasures, vintage curiosities, play areas and rides.  Including a maze, toboggan ride, crazy golf, gnome village, swing boats and more, there is enough to keep all ages occupied!  And bring your dog along for the fun.  Dogs are welcome to join their owners at this family theme park!  For a fun day out, be sure to check it out on Your Devon Escape.
