ARLINGTON COURT

Arlington Court alongside the National Trust Museum gardens and grounds offers more than twenty miles of footpaths to explore as well as the carriage collection in the stables.  This unexpected jewel on the edge of Exmoor National Park is the perfect spot for a dog friendly day out in Devon.  Enjoy the popular walk around the man-made lake and explore the collection consisting of treasures for all tastes.  The court is a great all-weather activity for Your Devon Escape.

LYNMOUTH TO LYNTON CLIFF RAILWAY

Take a ride on this 19th century funicular for incredible views of the North Devon coast and bring your pooch!  This cliff railway ride between Lynmouth and Lynton in Devon is a great activity for the whole family and your furry friend can come too!  For wonderful views of the coastline, a ride on the railway is a must.  You can also walk from here to visit the Valley of the Rocks.  The funicular was built in the Victorian times to transport people and goods between the two towns and, at the time of building, was the world’s steepest and tallest water-powered funicular.  Take a ride into history on one of the dog friendly activities in North Devon.

MILKY WAY ADVENTURE PARK

Spend a day enjoying the rides and attractions of one of Devon’s top theme parks.  It has 110,000 square feet of indoor fun from slides to rides as well as play areas for different ages, including Little Stars for ages zero to six.  Older kids (and grown-ups!) can also check out the Planet Play Adventure Area, with free-fall drop slide, The Black Hole as well as indoor pottery painting, laser shooting and a fantastic Sci-Fi exhibit.  Open every day during the school holidays and at the weekends through winter term time, enjoy one of the largest undercover play areas in the South West.  Check the attraction’s website for the latest information on areas dogs can visit.

QUINCE HONEY FARM

Visit one of Britain’s top honey farms to find out more about beekeeping.  This is a great dog friendly activity to try in North Devon.  From guided tours, soft play, and beautiful gardens through to exclusive beekeeping experiences, there are plenty of activities to keep everyone happy.  Taking you on a journey from flower to jar, this working holiday farm is a great place for a day out in Devon.

ROCK AND RAPID CENTRE

Book a climbing taster session with a qualified instructor and see how high you can climb on their indoor rock wall.  The wall features climbs of varying difficulty depending on your ability or how adventurous you are feeling.  Or head into their bouldering cave to try some short, challenging routes.  If you are looking for dog friendly activities in North Devon but want something adrenaline-fuelled this is the place to go!  Dogs on lead are welcome to come into the centre while you are having a go on the climbing wall, high ropes, archery, or axe throwing.

VALLEY OF THE ROCKS

Devon isn’t short of dramatic landscapes and towering rock formations, but the Valley of the Rocks in Exmoor National Park is something special.  This natural wonder is where you’ll find some of the UK’s highest sea cliffs and stunning views and is dog friendly.  This fascinating valley is a U-shaped dry valley that is parallel to the sea.  After visiting the cliffs, this is a good spot to walk to Lynton, located half a mile to the west.  From here you can catch the cliff railway to Lynmouth another great North Devon town to visit.
