This is a lovely spot for a special occasion or if you want to treat yourself to some delicious, good quality food. Owned by Head Chef Luca Berardino, the recipes are developed by him and his team in house. The menu consists of a range of small plates, including vegan and vegetarian options. They showcase a modern take on classic dishes using local ingredients. Holding a high reputation among locals and visitors alike whilst being reasonably priced, booking is strongly advised. Britannia @ the Beach

Britannia @ The Beach, or often referred to as ‘The Shack’, is a unique and rustic restaurant overlooking Beesands Beach.  It is renowned for serving delicious seafood caught from the waters it overlooks.  The idea evolved from a local fishing family who wanted to complete the cycle from catching seafood to offering it on their exciting menu.  With its historic fishing connections and rustic appeal, it has evolved over the years into a much-loved landmark by locals and visitors alike.  Booking is highly recommended, and they do offer takeaway if you would prefer to sit on the beach.

Kendricks, Stoke Fleming, is the place for any occasion.  Whether you are looking for a quick bite to eat or a gathering, it’s the perfect spot.  Serving pizza, small plates, and local alcohol, indulge in the delicious food and good vibes.  They also do a locally famous roast on a Sunday!   If you are looking for dinner recommendations in Stoke Fleming that caters to the whole family and any dietary requirements, this is your spot.

Start Bay Inn

Based in Torcross, overlooking the beach, it is the ideal spot for dinner if you are staying in the area.  It is famous for its fish and chips and seafood specialities.  Locals will drive from all over the South Hams for the delicious, traditional dish.  They are a family run business, using fresh, local produce and alcohol.  Enjoy dinner here overlooking the water and ask the staff about the building’s history, dating back to the 14th century.  If you want something traditional and local, this is the spot.

The Angel

Multi-award winning, this relaxed fine dining restaurant has stunning views of the River Dart.  Located along the embankment, watch the boats go by as you eat.  Using locally sourced, fresh ingredients, this establishment is one to not miss.  The menu has been carefully created by Head Chef Elly Wentworth, a former ‘MasterChef: The Professionals’ Finalist. They offer both an A La Carte and tasting menu to cater to your desires.  Booking is highly recommended to check out one of the best lunch spots near Stoke Fleming.

The Cricket Inn

A multi-award-winning pub overlooking Beesands Beach.  Set along the South West Coast Path and fishing boats bringing today’s catch to the shore, it is the perfect location for dinner.  They have a reputation for serving modern, delicious, fresh fish and seafood dishes.  They are strong supporters of buying and serving local produce, and visitors return each year to taste the culinary delights created by their excellent team.  Serving traditional alongside a few Asian twists, be sure to check it out on your trip to Devon.  Dogs are welcome, so if you’ve brought them along for Your Devon Escape, bring them for dinner too!  Booking is recommended.

The Green Dragon

You will find this hidden gem nestled opposite the church, in the heart of Stoke Fleming. This pub is loved by locals and visitors alike, serving good heart, traditional food. They also host events throughout the year including the loved ‘Dragon Fest’ they host each summer. It is also a cosy spot to hang out during the winter, with a log burner and great ales. Be sure to check this one out to meet the villages locals.

The Seahorse

The Seahorse was first established in 2008 and has since become a place to gather for conversation, debate, and delicious local seafood.  It has a special warmth and spirit as soon as you step through the door.  The restaurant is entered through their bar, where you have the option of enjoying an aperitivo before moving to your table.  Fish is delivered twice a day from Brixham, bringing you the freshest seafood options for lunch.  The menu changes daily so there will always be something new for you to try.  Opposite the bar, they have The Cantina, a private room where friends and family can gather to enjoy a dedicated menu, cooked exclusively by one of their chefs.  If you are heading to Devon for a special celebration, hiring The Cantina could be an excellent idea for an intimate lunch together.  The Seahorse caters for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free.  They also can offer children’s options on request.
