Bonfire Night Ideas in Devon…

In Devon for bonfire night and want to take part in some festivities?  Firework night is a great excuse to get out and enjoy an evening of fresh air.  It is also the perfect end to a perfect day on Your Devon Escape.  Explore the wonders of Devon and finish with an excellent display to round of your day.  Below we have put together a list of our recommendations for events over bonfire night for you to get involved in…

BONFIRE NIGHT, THE HOE, PLYMOUTH, DEVON, PL1 2PA

On the 5th of November, Plymouth Hoe will be lit up with a spectacular bonfire and fireworks display.  The evening begins at 4pm, with fairground rides, and food and drink on offer.  Radio Plymouth will be entertaining for the evening with a music programme starting at 6pm.  Located near the lighthouse, you will find the bonfire which is being lit at 7:30pm.  Spot Guy Fawkes sitting on top of the bonfire.  At 8pm, the fireworks will begin, taking place from the Royal Citadel.  If you want to make a day of it, check out our journal entry for recommendations of what to do in the city of Plymouth.

CHARITY FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA, WESTPOINT, EXETER, EX5 1DJ

A celebration of the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in the form of fireworks at Westpoint on the 5th of November.  The fireworks are being organised by Sonic, the British Champions, set to your favourite tunes, hosted by Radio Exe.  Gates open at 5:30pm, with admission allowed until 7:20pm.  Alongside the fireworks, Westpoint will be hosting funfair rides, various catering outlets, and bars.  The profits for this event will all be going to charities of the organisers’ choosing.  Pre-booking is essential for this event, so check out their website and book today!

FIREWORK CRUISE, STUART LINE CRUISES, EXMOUTH, EX8 1FE

Sailing the 4th and 5th November, enjoy the bonfire night celebrations from a different perspective.  Sail the calm waters of the River Exe with an uninterrupted view of the shoreline, marvelling at the colours of all the displays taking place.  Book your tickets online and enjoy with friends or family for a unique experience on Your Devon Escape.

MALBOROUGH BONFIRE AND FIREWORKS, MALBOROUGH PLAYING FIELDS, TQ7 3SH

Malborough bonfire and fireworks night is being held on 5th of November, with the bonfire being lit at 6:30pm.  A bar, hog roast, barbeque and hot drinks will be available throughout the evening for you to be warm and refreshed whilst watching the display.  Stand near the bonfire to enjoy the heat whilst sipping on a hot chocolate or pint.  After a day on the coast path or strolling on the beach, this is the perfect event to finish off a great day.  They ask for you to please not bring sparklers to the event.

THE RING O’BELLS, WEST ALVINGTON, TQ7 3PG

Join The Ring O’Bells on the 5th of November for a night of wonderful fireworks, food, and music.  DJ Beanz will be playing music throughout the evening.  Barbeque food will be available from 5pm-9pm to keep you warm throughout the event, with fireworks beginning at 8pm.  A short drive from all our properties, make the trip to West Alvington and enjoy an evening of festivities.

THE SPORTMANS ARMS, DARTMOUTH, TQ6 7DE

The Sportsmans Arms annual fireworks display returns in 2022!  Join them from 5:30pm on 5th of November for an evening of drinks, barbeques and culinary delights from the wonderful Samphire and Spice.  They will be serving mulled wine and cider from their marquee bar to keep you all warm throughout the evening.  The fireworks display will begin at 7:30pm and food will be served until 9pm.  If you plan on having a drink, we recommend booking a taxi home before the evening to make sure you can get one!  Up the road from Higher Venice and a short drive from Steppes House, book a stay with Your Devon Escape over bonfire weekend to enjoy all the festivities on offer!

TOTNES BONFIRE NIGHT, TOTNES, TQ9
